Can I clone the HCM16 Update Demo Database on top of the HCM16 UPGRADE Demo Database?

In running the HCM 9.2 Upgrade Change Package, I completely missed the step to backup the New Release Demo Database in the "Planning Your Application Changes" phase - Task 1-7.   Oooops.  

Reading further in the guide I see that I am supposed to use that backup as input to a restore (6-20 Restoring the New Release Database.)   Given that I am 21% into the change package (Running the New Release UPGCUST Compare now - 16 hours so far and still running), I'm assuming the New Release database has already been updated. 

I am using my upgrade PUM instance database as my source (HR92UPG2).  I also have an update PUM instance installed.  Can I use the UPDATE instance demo database as a source to clone into HR92UPG2 in preparation for the restore at 6-20?
