How can I get OID/OIM support for GTLD email addresses?

Using OID/OIM to store customer information/registration, we encounter an issue with one of our customer using a GTLD email address, user@abc.agency. OIM system configuration Email Validation Pattern has been updated to reflect more than 4 characters for the Top Level Domain, setting a value for 8 characters (what is the valid email address format in OIM)

But, it didn't resolve my issue. It appears OID has a similar limitation. How can I find it?
