PeopleSoft Application Server shuts down very slowly?

Since we upgraded to PeopleTools 8.54, the application servers for both PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 and FSCM 9.2 shut down very slowly. Every time we want to recycle the application servers, it takes longer for them to completely shut down. Sometimes, we end up forcing shutdown using Ctrl+C to end processes immediately. Has anybody experienced slow application shutdown? Any hints to speed up the shutdown will much appreciated.
