How does apply deal online option works on the PO screen?

We have requirement in the business that deals created on the system need to to automatically applied on PO if there are any active deal for the supplier/item/location combination.

we have an option on the purchase order screen when we click on ''APPLY PROCESS'' we have option saying that apply deal 1. Online 2. Offline .

Offline is manually applying the deal to the PO.

but how does apply online option for the deals works.If online option is selected how does deal get applied on the PO and what is use of this option.

can any one please respond.
