Can We Have Return to Search Button in the Page When Adding a New Value

Hi,

We have a requirement to have "return to search" or "Cancel" button needed in add mode. When user clicks on add a new value, and enter few values in the page and then if user decides to come out of the page without saving the data, they need cancel or return to search button to come to search page. I have added the toolbar item "Return to search" but it is not showing in add mode. It is showing only in update/display mode. May i know how to get it?

I also tried adding "cancel" push button manually and in its properties selected Destination as "Toolbar action" and action type as "Return to List". But the "Cancel" button is grayed out in add mode whereas in update/display mode it is working fine.
