What is the value added by automating queries in PTF

Hello,

I understand that PTF (PeopleSoft TestFrame) has the ability to automate queries. I am not sure what is the advantage of automating queries in PTF. For me it feels like it takes more time to set up the automated test than just clicking the run button to manually run the query.

Can anyone help me find the value of automating the scripts.
