MRP process in dataguard

Hi all,

I have a doubt regarding Dataguard Feature.

Suppose i install Dataguard with 1 primary and 1 physical standby database (OEL 6.7 and 11.2.0.4 64 bit),operating under maxavailability mode,using MRP process (alter database recover standby database using current logfile). My doubt is, does MRP comes under active dataguard feature,even if i don't open the standby database in read only mode. Will there be any data loss if i use LGWR (alter database recover standby database disconnect).

Please help me in understanding this concept.
