PeopleTool upgrade from 8.53 to 8.55

Our Current Versions: App Fin. 9.0 / People tools 8.53.15 , Database Version: SQL Server 2008 , OS: WIndows 64 Bit 2008 (web, app and Database).

Our PeopleSoft Server Configuration: Webserver/Appserver on One Server (Windows 2008) and Database on another(Windows 2008) , Batch on another Server(Windows 2008) .

Our Idea now, if POSSIBLE now is to upgrade to 8.55( yes, 8.55 Is The Minimum OS it supports is 2012 R2). we are on Windows 2008 Servers as mentioned above. 8.55 (*NEW*) does not support Windows 2008 OS.

Note: Also, we aware that 8.55 does not support SQL Server 2008.  we need to upgrade our Database to SQL server Database 2014.

Question:

Can we upgrade (possible) to go from 8.53 (not certified with Windows 2012 R2 ) to 8.55 People Tools ( Not supported for windows 2008, the minimum OS it requires 2012 R2).
