Is it possible to disable Forward to Next Manager in Expenses workflow notifications

Hi All,

Is it possible to disable forward to Next manager option without customization.

When the Request approval notification is timed out due to No response from Approvers it comes back to preparer.

Preparer sends this to next level manager which is affecting our approval processes.

Note: We are not using AME.
