Not returning results on custom picklist field

I created a custom picklist field (Contract Status) on the Activity object with 6 picklist values in our Staging environment. I've tried running a simple report (Activity ID and Contract Status) and each time I add the column for Contract Status, no results are returned. Any ideas as to why this custom picklist field would be causing the report not to return any results?
