XML Gateway attachments

We are working to implement a new electronic invoicing solution as our current process is out of commission because of certificate and upgrade issues.

We are currently using a custom BPEL/B2B solution and are working to replace that with a new EDI software package.

I have the XML file generated doing an internal server but I need to send an attachment with the XML.  I have read the XML Gateway users guide and know that it is possible but an not having any success.  Oracle support keeps telling me to read the XML Gateway users guide, which I have to no avail.  It is very general and I am needing more granular detail.
