Creating a Decoupled PS_HOME from a Single PS_HOME

E-INST Creating a De-Coupled PsHome from a Single PsHome (Doc ID 2165661.1)

This new document describes a method for moving to a decoupled PS_HOME environment using the PeopleSoft Deployment Packages (DPKs).

[Background info] A decoupled PS_HOME environment refers to one in which the location of PS_HOME, which holds the PeopleSoft PeopleTools files, is different from that of PS_APP_HOME, which holds the PeopleSoft application (such as HCM and FSCM) files, and PS_CUST_HOME, which holds user-customized files.

The PeopleSoft DPKs set up a decoupled PeopleSoft environment by default, with PS_HOME and PS_APP_HOME installed in different locations.  To set up a PS_CUST_HOME, you deploy using a customization file.
