HRMS 8.9 with PT8.54?

Hi,

We've PeopleSoft HRMS Time & Labour module 8.9 and PT8.49.

Our management wants to upgrade current db from 11g to 12.1.0.2.0.  They don't intend or plan to upgrade HRMS application ever in future and want to keep it to 8.9 itself.

Since PT8.49 is not certified on 12.0.2.0, we plan to upgrade PeopleTools-Only from PT8.49 to PT8.54.  As per the certification notes, PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System 8.9 can be run on PeopleTools 8.46 or higher. Does that mean we can upgrade to PT8.54 also? Some analysts are advising me to go for PT8.52 as it is the last certified tools release for certified upgrade path from HRMS 8.9 to 9.1. But since our managements doesn't have any plan to upgrade HRMS application in future, I'm thinking of upgrading PT directly to 8.54.
