Missing Journal Lines Causes Out of Balance Between Ledger/JRNL_LN Table

Hello,

Has anyone encountered a situation where a journal was posted to a ledger but later the lines are missing from the journal yet the values are still posted to the ledger?

For example, on day 1 a balanced journal was posted with 24 lines equaling $5000 posted to the ledger. On day 30, the journal has 20 lines but the ledger still shows $5000. Nothing happened between day 1 and day 30.  The issue is identified when the account balance is summed but does not equal the ledger balance due to the missing 4 lines.
