Poor performance when delivering instance on 8.54.20 nVision

We're testing 8.54.20 nVision in both 2-tier and on the web and the instance deliverance is taking 2-3 times longer than it did on 8.53 in both scenarios.  The delivering instance box in 2-tier goes to 100% fairly quickly, but then just hangs for a long time; on some reports 20-30 minutes, before finalizing the instance.  We were originally running Excel 2013 64-bit, but encountered an issue with the Layout Definition filter crashing when making a change (known bug Bug 21980745   - NVISION CLIENT GETTING CRASHED WHILE ADDING FILTER IN EXCEL 2013), so we have reverted back to 2010 64-bit.  Most of these long running reports have nPlosion enabled and, if we disable that option at report request run time, the reports run quickly (2-3 minutes versus 20-30 minutes).  Unfortunately, running the reports with nPlosion disabled is not an option for our users.
