Payment Predictor Check Box on Regular/Express Deposit Pages

I would like to if this is a bug or working as delivered. We have bank deposits automatically created in AR (customization) with payment predictor box checked. I have noticed that when Payment predictor runs, if there is a corresponding item that matches, gets applied but we have situations where payments are received ahead (recurring pays) of item creation in AR. When Payment predictor runs, it unchecks the box making it manual for someone to apply. Is there a setting somewhere it leaves the box on all the time until it finds an item so it is applied automatically? Any
