how to start database after native linux dpk install?

I used the CS92/8.55.06 PI2 native linux dpk to install an environment and it gave me no errors. It seems the init<DBNAME>.ora is missing from $ORACLE_HOME/dbs and while the dbf files are all in /psft/db/oradata/CS92, there is no control file or redo logs. I have also found nothing in any of the documentation showing how to get this started. Anyone else see this?
