Item Induction - v15 v16

Hi folks,

In Oracle Retail v15 and v16 we have Item Induction and PO induction processes.

For item induction we have the jobs - iindbatch and ld_iindfiles/loadods ksh.

iindbatch takes an input file in the form of an xml for bulk upload.

If we are getting data from an external system, do we have to manually build the input xml based on the template (content.xml)?

Is that a correct understanding?

Then the batch enqueues the items in chunks by assigning process ids and the async process dequeues the messages and process them.

In case the above is true, can a spreadsheet upload be possible via item induction.
