What is Supplier Bank Account Account Type used for ?

Hi,

What is Supplier Bank Account options Account Type used for ?

Is it just an information field or does the selection of a certain type effect some processing options against that account (e.g. if Check Acct chosen it only checks to be created for that account ) ?
