MICR Line with BI Publisher AP Checks

Has anyone been able to successfully implement AP Checks with BI Publisher using template id CHECK1 where the Stub is over the Check with the Advice?  Our MICR font is installed on the server (not on the printer) but I cannot get the MICR line to vertically position correctly on the template - the MICR line seems to not go down low enough when the check is printed.  Will we need to install a MICR font on the printer in order to get this to work using CHECK1?  We are on FSCM 9.2 (through Image 13), PeopleTools 8.53.
