Role Alias for Portal Administrator

I have applied Tools patch 8.54.30 in order to get the new functionality of role alias as described in Doc ID 2198095.1.  I have completed all of the steps listed, but am still not able to run Portal Security Sync with my new role alias.  Has anyone been able to get this functionality working?
