PUM DPK + PT PATCH DPK?

I am new to the DPK, (after using VMs for a long time), and could use some help

I have an FSCM PUM 9.22 dpk installed on windows server 2012, I would like to put the latest peopletools patches using dpk on it 8.55.14 or 13 on that pum database. Has anyone been successful at such task?

I patched peopletools on my dev/prod databases as I used to before dpks. but now i need a patch, but change assistant does not like that the pum is in a previous version. The whole purpose is to pull a few patches of this PUM, but now when I try to patch the PUM using the latest dpk for peopletools i get errors. I know the latest PUM is out there, but should I be able to do this if I follow oracle documents? If i try PUM 23 DPK + PT 8.55.14 DPK?
