PeopleSoft DB Platform migration- Is it required to re-install PeopleTools binaries at App, Batch an

Is it required to re-install PeopleTools binaries at App, Batch and Web layers if the DB platform changed from SQL Server to Oracle or vice versa? or just update the App Server config files to point the current PeopleTools to the new DB?

I vaguely remember specifying the DB type whilst installing PeopleTools for App and Batch Servers and hence wondering if I need to reinstall or not?
