"Process Request shows status of 'INITIATED' or 'PROCESSING' but no longer running"

We encounter following error message for scheduled AE processes that are part of a PSJob. The frequency is sporadic, same process runs fine one day and can go to error the next day.

"Process Request shows status of 'INITIATED' or 'PROCESSING' but no longer running"

It happens on multiple production instances with various AE processes. We are runnnig on tools 8.55 with SQL Server. Anyone has a suggestion on where to look for, any document  to troubleshoot this kind of issue.
