Peopletools 8.55: does the nvsinstancehook work?

Hi, we are upgrading from Peoplesoft Fin 9.1, Ptools 8.51 to Fin 9.2, Ptools 8.55.13. For our nvision layouts, some layouts are running to error that use the nvsinstancehook to execute macros during runtime (such as subtotals on a Tabular layout). I see that the Instance Hook is "not supported", but what is the best way to execute macros at runtime? These layouts (and macros) run successfully when running 2-tier, but error out when running in the Psoft web. Thank You
