How can we prevent access to content not registered in a portal

We have set up a portal to limit access to specific content. As far as navigation within the portal, this works fine. But, the URL can be manipulated to access content not registered in the portal, as long as the user has been provisioned access to the content in another portal.

Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent access to content when that content is not registered in the portal in question?
