Consolidate HCM and FSCM databases on one database server

Hi community,

For years we have had this server schema for our PeopleSoft systems:

Financials:   one database server,  one server for application/web/process scheduler, etc.

HCM:   one database server,  one server for application/web/process scheduler, etc.

A consultant has recommended that we consider consolidating the Financials and HCM databases on one server to cut down on licensing costs and patching, etc.

This makes sense to me and I can't see any drawbacks.   Is this a common architecture?  Any cons to this plan?
