How often do you run appmsgpurgeall.dms?

Hello Community!

I was wondering how often others run the appmsgpurgeall.dms process?  Are there any cons to running this process on a periodic basis other than losing history of messages processed through the Integration Broker?

Context:

We had an issue this weekend with an SES Search Index process (PTSF_GENFEED) hanging while trying to do a full index of our Job Postings in the Recruiting (Talent Acquisition) module.  Running these full indexes typically took many hours to complete, but this weekend we ran into a situation where it wouldn't finish.  We found an Oracle Support doc (2241069.1) which seemed to describe exactly our issue and it recommended running appmsgpurgeall.dms and restarting the SES.  After examining the tables this dms script was clearing we discovered one had a crazy number of rows.  So we followed the advice to
