Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Upgrading/Patching without PUM Source - after extracting package

Hi All,

After extracting the UPG and RFU Packages from the Update Image, the PUM Source essentially is not necessary again.

According to PeopleBooks the CA can be configured without the PUM Source for an Application Upgrade.

In that example the RFU Package is not selected.

When the RFU Package is selected, the CA will not proceed after the Check Compatibilty. Because it asks for the PUM Source.

- Is it necessary to use the RFU Package after the Initial Upgrade? (package is already applied to the initial Source)

- If RFU Package is necessary to reapply to a next New Source, is it possible to disable the need for PUM Source?
