Pick Applet Lost Query Criteria when "Auto Query Mode = New Query"

Hello,

I have faced issue with pick applet Auto Query Mode.

I have field Owner on activities list applet. There is popup applet on this field defined with Auto Query Mode = "New Query".

New Query works fine, if popup applet opened with magnifying glass icon (no chars entered into field). But if I start typing the value and press TAB, popapplet opens no records unless I press escape.

Is it possible to open popup applet in new query mode if no criteria entered in field, but already queried records by criteria, if there is one?
