Custom name for report names in BI publisher.

This is regarding the custom name for report names in BI publisher. We are using %ASD% for PRTOFCHK, but the file is getting created with pay end date . I thought it will create with today's date. I am looking for some unique number like process instance or datetimestamp. Can i use %BTV%. will this give me unique number.

What is ASD stands for and from where does the system is identifying the pay end date and placing it on the filename?

Any info on this is much appreciated.
