Consignment / Concession Department

Hi Experts,

We are currently going through the early stages of a conceptual design for a new Merchandise Hierarchy. The business operates with multiple brands as well as many concession and consignment suppliers. I have noticed in all the documentation that:

  • A department can be set up for either Normal merchandise or Consignment merchandise.

Does this mean any item that is a consignment of concession has to be in it a separate department in the merchandise hierarchy? I.e. we have to repeat the department "Mens Tops" and associated nodes for consignment items? How have you seen this done in a complex hierarchy landscape where the drive is for simplicity and standardization across the hierarchy?
