Process missed from recurrence pattern with a prior run date "ran" inspite of choosing do NOT schedu

We have a Recurrence setup as below:
Request start date is 06/09 (that's when we created the recurrence).

Run on Specific Dates include a prior date 06/08.

We do NOT the checkbox checked for 'Do not schedule any processes missed from the recurrence pattern'.

However, when this recurrence was run we do see the run date of 06/08 picked up; it ran to success. Screenshot below confirms the same.

Why did the prior date get picked up?

We are on PeopleTools 8.51.24 and PeopleSoft HRMS 9.1.
