What is the difference between the different PeopleTools release scripts?

What is the difference between the different PeopleTools release scripts? I understand that these scripts modify the structure of the PeopleTools tables.  But there are four versions of the relxxx.sql scripts.  I have found that one is for unicode databases, and one is for non-unicode databases.  What are the other two used for?

relxxxn.sql - This is for non-unicode databases

relxxxu.sql - This is for unicode databases

What are these two for?

relxxx.sql

relxxxun.sql
