SMT disabled in 7.3 and onward....any change coming?

The following bug notes that SMT Is disabled.  It's also that way in 7.4.   Any update on its future?

Build Notes: Bug #22683910 : Disable SMT in the code Problem: sip monitoring is not supported in 730. To avoid confusion, we need to disable sip monitoring functionality in code regardless it is enabled or not in acli.
