Upgrading SES

I am sorry if this is not the correct forum for SES;  the only other SES forum I could locate was archived.........not allowing new input.

Our current status with SES is:

Peopletools 8.55.xx

SES 11.2.2.2.BP4

Database  11.2.0.3

(this pretty much how we originally installed it)

I want to upgrade search to BP5  (or BP6) to get some of the fixes.

Support is telling me that I cannot take BP5 without upgrading the database to v11.2.0.4   (or v12).

This sound nuts to me.

Is this accurate?
