nVision and 64 bit Excel

Oracle, in its infinite wisdom has forced all nVision users to a 64 bit version of Excel using PT 8.54 or above - with no workaround.

For app designer users,(two tier) can the config file, and regedit of windows force  nVision to open a 64 bit version of Excel from another folder on the network or even your c:\ drive?

We have added PT 8.55.15 to a virtual Citrix solution, but the results are less than desired.
