How to mark an activity guide complete using an application package?

I have created an activity guide that I have put on a pagelet in a workcenter.  When I log on, the activity guide is present for me to go through the actions.  I have the Next, Previous and Mark Complete buttons and a pagelet progress bar functioning. The issue is, once I have completed all my actions, I would like the instance to be marked as complete and not active, but notice that the instance is still there and when I sign back in, I now do not have access to the activity guide.  I have found if I manually
