Does OUD Referential Integrity check for circular group references (in static groups)?

Hi,

We are starting to look to move to using OUD instead of OID, and we also want to used nested groups (static groups), where, by error, someone adds a groups as a member of a group, but the new group is a "circular" reference.

I had assumed that the attempt to do the addition to the group would trigger a referential integrity check which would throw an error, but I found an older thread (2014) that seems to indicate that that is not the case:

That thread was old, so I am hoping that is no longer the case....  Does anyone know if this is still the case with OUD?
