Can we Trigger an Database Event to .NET Application

Dear All,

I have requirement that some data i need to display in Application, whenever any changes in data occurs. I don't want to do continuous polling of data instead of can we trigger an event to Application when any data change occur.

I am using Oracle 11g R2 Server as Database and my Application is built in VB.Net

Do the needfull
