Components of Cobol compilers.

Could anyone please let me know what are the components of Cobol compilers when we installs the Cobol compilers. Which part of it needs to be running in order for Cobols related program to work in PeopleSoft HRMS. We are having issue where the Cobols related programs like Pay Calculation(PayCalc) is not working properly even though I ave compiled them with no issue.
