Upgrading the peopletools 8.53 to 8.55. What level of testing is required for this tools upgrade.

We are currently in peoplesoft application 9.2 and planning to upgrade the tools only from 8.53 to 8.55. I need to know what level of testing is required on the application side and on the tools side.  Do we need to do full application testing? Is there any documentation on the test approach for tools only upgrade?
