Change User Icon color based on identity status

I'd like to dynamically change the User Icon color in the request catalog based on their identity status.  Below is an example of the ootb icon.  Is there a simple way to achieve this using expressions?

Another solution would be to hide ALL disabled users from the catalog view.  Is there a sensible way to do this?
