PTPP_SCSYNC - Is it best practice to run this in a nightly batch?

We just upgraded to Tools 8.55 where we created several navigation collections.  If I read Peoplebooks correctly, it sounds like we should have this running after any changes occur to those navigation collections.  What do most organizations do in this situation?  run on demand?  or as a scheduled job?
