PS/QUERY - Masking Output Data

Is there a way to mask certain data fields on a table when the table is queried via PS/Query? For example, SSN from PS_EMPLOYEES table. When user uses this record and selects NATIONAL_ID field, the results will always show blank or 'XXX-XX-XXXX' for NATIONAL_ID field.
