Modified change package use for applying on production

Hi,

I've seen a document E-PUM: Errors Applying Change Package the Second Time. (Doc ID 2307674.1). It suggest us to apply modified change package second time. This means we should apply this modified change package on Production also, using MTP.

My question is if modified change package which have some new added .dat file (.dat file created by export script from DEMO or DEV env). Can we use those .dat files which are created from DEV env to be used/applied to production? Are these .dat file recommended to apply on Production env?
