Getting apx2027 to print directly via BATCH process

We want to run APX2027 via batch at night using a custom app engine like we did for crystal - so far we can't  get our custom app engine to hit the printer - it works from online app - and we want to simulate in batch over night so customers have their reports on their printers in the morning - anyone else doing this ?  We can get the app engine to execute apx2027 just fine - it just won't hit the printer
