Monetary account type in account charfield

Hi ,

Could you anyone help us with a question about Monetary account type field in GL_ACCOUNT_TBL.

In the below path

Main menu->Setup financials/Supply chain ->Common Definitons ->design chartfields ->define values ->chartfield values -> account

We have set up a few accounts wrongly with the monetary account type as EXPENSE

We want to change the type to EQUITY.

We would like to know if any process will be affected if we change the account type of the existing account.

Will there be a change in the way the accounts will be processed.

Can anyone help us with the query
