Portal Public user: When user clicks on signout the error page appear

We have a portal public web profile. When the user click on signout the IE Error 500 internal server error page is launched. Even we open a new tab in the same browser and click on the public PIA link the same error 500 occurs. We had to close the browser and reopen and the public PIA and then the link works fine. We had see a bug already created for this issue However oracle development is saying its working as designed. What is the workaround or recommended solution for users who implement public PIA and
