PS/VP1 users singondate time changed when purge processes run daily

It is observed that purge process will  run daily as per schedule (PeopleTools >> Process Scheduler >> System Settings) and it runs by PS pr VP1 users. It update the last signon datetime (PSOPRDEFN) when processes runs.

Is it because these are system processes or what else?Anyone facing same?
